Conditions of the lower eyelid may be corrected with an incision just below the lower lash line. Through this incision, excess skin in the lower eyelids is removed. A transconjunctival incision, one hidden inside the lower eyelid, is an alternate technique to correct lower eyelid conditions and redistribute or remove excess fat.

Also known as rhytidectomy, a facelift is a surgical procedure to improve visible signs of aging in the face and neck. A Full-Facelift is a traditional incision often beginning in the hairline at the temples, continuing around the ear and ending in the lower scalp. Fat may be sculpted or redistributed from the face, jowls and neck, and underlying tissue is repositioned, commonly the deeper layers of the face and the muscles are also lifted. A Mid-Facelift is an alternative to a traditional facelift using shorter incisions at the temples, continuing around the ear and possibly within the lower eyelids or under the upper lip.

This type of procedure is considered minimal incision. This is a "short scar" procedure and is performed under a local anesthetic (meaning the patient is awake, but feels no pain). Incisions are placed in front of and hidden inside the ear. This type of incision provides adequate exposure for the surgeon to work with minimal cutting.
